Soooo these images are ruffs for an assignment in my illustration class. Basically, we create a pet for a celebrity of our choosing. I chose David Bowie.
I really need to figure out how to place images in this blog thing. I dont like them at the top of each blog :\
I love love LOVE the second comp! Wonderful framing and use of negative space; the shape of Bowie's coat with the chameleon head against it is delicious. The swirly bits coming off the chameleon's tail are great, too! Look'it that li'l smile.
ReplyDeleteMy only suggestion is to give the chameleon a bit more space to the left of his elbow and Bowie a bit more space above his head. They don't have to be perfectly centered on the page, but that extra space will give 'em some breathing room to avoid tangents.
yay! Thanks, Jillian! The class decided I should work on the second one.
ReplyDeleteDavid gave the same suggestion. Maybe YOU and he are the same person :o He also suggested that maybe the stripes are unnecessary. I think they are pretty but I will take them out and shrink Bowie and his buddy down so they dont create tangents with the border.
