Raccoon

A quick paint to finish the night

Apple study 2 and 3

Better this time, I think.  Apple on the left was lit from my bedroom window.  Unfortunately I started it rather late in the day so I lost my light before I could finish.  Had to guess during the render part :(

Oh!  The labels have failed me!  The middle picture is the blocking stage and the bottom one is render.

Hm, the outlook on reaching my goal is pretty grim (dang you, Youtube!).  We'll see what happens.

Oh eugh no

I debated posting this because it's just... so awful.  oh.  oh no.  But hey, all in the name of progress.  Maybe after the 1,000th awful painting things will start improving.  At least I learned some stuff and have some idea WHY it looks awful - the colors eluded/confused me and I got impatient, thus the form was lost and became a muddled mess.

Oh, this was a digital painting from an apple-core still life.  Would have painted the apple but I ated it. o_o

Obviously not a full render.  Going to move on nonetheless.

Sketch Pages 694 - 700!

FINALLY HIT 700!  FWEEEEE!! (pretend that was a noise maker).
Colored up one of my characters with Prismacolor pencils.  This took so much longer than I had anticipated.  Originally it was going to be a quick paint-over but I kinda went crazy with it.  Too bad I made the picture on crummy sketchbook paper. :\

I've been going through old sketchbooks and drawing some characters.  I realize that I need to do more life drawing so I think I'll work on that for some odd pages.  Oh and Photoshop studies, of course!  I REALLY want to reach my goal!  I only have four days left so I better hurry up!

Lizard- Final and a holiday resolution

Decided to call it quits on the lizard study.

I have a little bit of time off from work for the holidays so I'm using it to focus more on my artwork.  By the second my goal is to have completed 20 more pages in my sketchbook and colored 10 different pictures.  For the colored pieces, they don't have to be finished illustrations (although I do want to have 1 or 2 finished); they can be quick paints in Photoshop or with traditional media.

This may be a tall order for me but if it gets me working, hey, I'll take it.

I'm going to count this lizard as my first colored piece.  I also drew 2 pages.  It's a start!

Sketch Page 693

A re-draw of an old art piece from last year.  I used this sketch to vent frustrations and disappointments.  Very therapeutic!  Seems like Offering is always my subject for getting rid of "mental poisons".

I guess in a way it makes sense, considering he is the embodiment of psychological and physical decay.

Bonus Infected Mushroom lyrics :P

Here is the old piece from May 2011

Sketch Pages 690-692

Some pony sketches.  Okay, maybe it's just me but I noticed after I drew the old pony on the bottom left- well, it looks like he has lil penis legs.

moving on.
Thinking about coloring this one, despite horrible anatomy.
And yay!  I did a page with two characters interacting!  Granted they're only sizing each other up.

Sketch Pages 679-684 and Sketchbook Cover

I wasn't sure if I would include my latest sketchbook cover.  I've been rather down about my art lately and this cover is personal.  Ah well.  Front and Back.
